Hello dear memoir lovers,
As I stay tethered to my air conditioning this summer, I’m looking forward to dedicating more time to this newsletter and rolling out all the bonus content I’ve been promising you. That is when I’m not binge watching the latest season of So You Think You Can Dance or plowing through my summer reading list.
For awhile now, I have been concocting ways to expand the amount of time I spend around other writers with the intention of holding each other accountable and actually getting some writing done.
I basically want to eat, breathe, sleep, and fill my time up with other nonfiction writers and lovers whenever possible. I truly believe it’s the best way to inspire one another.
Enter virtual write-ins.
Starting tomorrow, I will be facilitating a weekly silent write-in over Zoom for paid subscribers.
What we’ll do:
Get into your favorite writing corner.
Grab a cup of coffee and a notebook, laptop, tablet, typewriter or whatever you draft your writing on.
Meet on Zoom for approximately one hour.
Use my favorite method to give focus and structure to your writing.
Stay silent.
After a quick welcome from me, we will all mute ourselves and write.
Work on whatever you like during the hour of writing—journaling, editing, chipping away at your WIP, drafting an angry email to your ex, writing fiction (who would know?), etc.
An optional prompt will be provided if you need something to help get the creative juices flowing.
Note: the day of the week and time of these write-ins will vary over the next few weeks while I compile data (polls below) on the best meeting time for the most amount of people.
